This is how you track your Dell delivery on walshwestern alias syncreon site. You need the customer number and order number.

Order Number - 024443444 (Note the 0 in the dell order number)
Customer Number - 02 + Dell customer no without the GB (replace GB in the dell customer with 02)

Wish Dell where sensible enough to put this for the customers rather than us deriving and blah. There you go happy refreshing. ;)

Dell Tracking/Western Walsh tracking.

Was very happy to save some monies on my laptop order. And order confirmation followed and the comes the tracking part. I am one of the people who is eager get my hands on my gadget. Dell seems to spend a considerable chuck of time configuring and pre-productioning something which should be already as they took away options to customize hardware etc.

My order was stuck there for good 3 days and then In production for another 3 days. Seriously dell. Sort it out. All you had to do was pack and send the bloody thing from china.(huh, yea all the orders come from china these days). So 6 days gone and finally order status updated to Golden word Shipped

Well the trouble really start here for most orders in UK. The shipping is handled by some not so helpful company walshwestern(read syncreon ). Most orders will be stuck at the not so golden DEPARTED MANU.FACILITY
No matter how many times you refresh or call people my order was stuck there for longggg 8 days. Seems the shipping happens in scheduled bulk loads so if you are lucky your order might be in a shipping scheduled near your order date. So it depends on your luck to say the truth.
You can call walshwestern alias syncreon on +44 (0)871 987 3355 (10 pence per minute from a UK landline) Careful about the charges. The customer care can mention your shipping landing date in UK at times else not so useful to waste your money at 10p per minute.
One fine day when the sun shines ;) kidding, It doesn't generally in UK atleast this time of the year, the order ETA was updated with the delivery date.

This is how it works with the delivery. walshwestern merely brings the order into UK mainland and then the actual delivery is done by their partners or third parties.(UKmail and others) My order was through UKMail so let me know other parties so I can update to help others.
It is a big pain to get the tracking for UKmail from anybody from Dell to walshwestern.

So this is how to derive the UKmail tracking number
39999+ your dell order no.(ex : dell order - 024443444 )UKmail needs a 14 digit number. Note the zero in the dell order. Here the UKmail tracking is 39999024443444

Well the end is over and the time has come. I got mine delivered after 16 days after ordering and 10 days after the status has changed to shipped.Good luck with yours.

If UKmail doesn't kick and play around with your parcel you will get your laptop as I got mine.

Ordering a Dell laptop and getting hands on the same these days is long journey. I like to share some tips around the process to start this blog of mine.

Well find out the best laptop which suits your needs from the Dell website. Well everyone knows it.Dumb. Please bear with me. It might be worth some money or monies(as some people around me says) in the end.
After finding your laptop. Use the Chat option on the website to get hold of someone from Dell. Check with him, give you details and what not. In the end they will come up with the same quote as one you have on the website. Oops. Don't give up. Use you persuasion skills here and ask if they can offer any more discount on top of it. Use all your stories(reads - loyal customer etc etc here) I managed to get around £40 quid in the end, not bad yea?

Step 1 Done. Great.
